CCW News

Welcome to our refreshed website! Many thanks to Michael Tandarich of Tandarich Group for being such a great web developer partner.

I am honored to take over as Executive Director of Creative Catholic Works!

A Bit of History

CCW cofounder Michele Coldiron and I met in 2010 on a music project for Michele’s previous venture—California Catholic Women’s Forum—and after collaborating for a few years we re-branded as CCW in 2014. It evolved to become a media resource for promoting the truth of the human person, rooted in the teachings of Pope John Paul II’s Theology of the Body (TOB).

One of the early projects I helped to produce was a video series about the TOB presented by Professor John Hamlon. That was my late but timely introduction to this incredible work as I’m now raising teenage daughters who ask great questions! For me, TOB represents the “why” of church teaching and is an extraordinary teaching tool for anyone open to the truth of the human person.

My Faith Journey

When I was a teenager, I was told what to do and what not to do as it pertained to church teaching. Looking back, I don’t believe the “why” was articulated enough. Therefore, I took many roads that led me away from God. I even fell away from the church in my early 30s for a couple of years. Thankfully, it was my mother who reminded me why I shouldn’t abandon the church that Jesus gave us (for the record, my dad had plenty to say on the topic too). Today, I feel that the greatest gift my parents gave me was indeed my baptism. For that, I am forever grateful!

Where is God Today?

CCW’s goal is to inspire and engage families in the wonder and awe that God presents us every moment—if our senses are engaged. CCW has a special focus on parents as we want to help them realize the importance of their role as the ones to pass the faith on to their children.

Our faith can help us to achieve what seems impossible. We just need to tap into it more than once a week at Sunday mass. I learned that it’s possible to overcome challenges great or small once I realized God’s presence in every moment of the day. I don’t always succeed, but I have experienced the peace that comes from that collaboration with Him. I wouldn’t trade this gift for all the riches of the world! This encounter of peace is what I wish to share in my work with CCW.
